Dover remembers: A tribute to 9/11 heroes and victims

The City Council commemorated the 23rd anniversary of 9/11 with a solemn ceremony on Sept. 11, 2024. Interim Fire Chief Perry Plummer, Police Chief William Breault, and Deputy Fire Chief Craig Chabot spoke, honoring the victims and first responders. The names of four Dover residents who perished on 9/11 were read: Kathleen Shearer, Michael Shearer, Douglas Stone, and David Scott Suarez. The ceremony included the traditional tolling of the bell, performed by Division Chief Keith Irwin and Capt. David Terlemezian, paying tribute to fallen firefighters, police officers, and military members. Mayor Robert Carrier emphasized the importance of remembering the tragic events and honoring those who protect the community daily.
