On Dec. 11, 2014, the U.S. Navy decommissioned the Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Norfolk (SSN 714). In January 2015, the ship began a yearlong decommissioning process at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. During that time, the City of Dover, New Hampshire will serve as host community to the ship's 15 officers and 122 sailors. On May 15, 2015, the crew of the USS Norfolk re-enlisted submariner Chief Kenneth Cochran during a ceremony at Dover City Hall.
